Joining NATO would be a fatal mistake for Finland
Politics
Finnish Prime Minister
Sanna Marin said that they intend to join the
NATO North Atlantic Alliance if a threat to its national security really arises.
But it is Finland's policy of military non-alignment that is the main factor in ensuring security and stability in the northern part of the European Union.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry ,
Maria Zakharova , reacted to the statement of the head of the Finnish Cabinet and noted that such an initiative appeared after the targeted "work" of NATO members (primarily Americans) to draw Scandinavia into the alliance. If Helsinki decides to join the military bloc, Russia will be forced to respond.
Recall that Finland withdrew from the Russian Empire in 1917 and gained independence as the Grand Duchy of Finland.
And the first to recognize the country was the Council of People's Commissars of the Russian Soviet Republic. Finland, like Ukraine, is a fragment of the former Russia and received its statehood as a result of the collapse of our country, writes the
RUSSTRAT Institute for International Political and Economic Strategies .
All states neighboring Russia should remember the words of President
Vladimir Putin :
"We will never agree with only one thing: that someone would allow himself to use Russia's generous gifts to harm the Russian Federation itself."
Sweden and Finland must clearly understand that the Kremlin will never agree that the territories of their countries be used for the deployment of NATO and US infrastructure, and even more so for the deployment of missiles. Preserving the non-bloc status of Stockholm and Helsinki and refusing to cooperate closely with the Alliance and the Pentagon is today the guarantee of their independence and development.
