What I've concluded from looking at what happened to players:
Random hacker throws cash at you =
NO ban.
Asking a hacker to throw cash at you without being found out =
NO ban.
Asking a hacker to throw cash at you and someone screenshotting you =
BAN.
Asking a hacker to throw cash at you while R* monitors this hacker =
BAN.
Using hacked money thrown at you =
NO ban.
Using hacked money thrown at you right away while R* is currently investigating the hacker =
NO ban (
but new cars, new house etc are removed and rolled back).
Using hacked money thrown at you and someone snitches you to R* after a long time =
BAN (
they seemingly won't bother digging through purchase records, if they can't easily roll it back, they find banning is quicker).
Conclusions:
- You do NOT get banned if you're the victim of hacked money.
- You do NOT get banned if you abuse the moment and R* can remove and roll back what you bought with it.
- You do get BANNED if you used hacked money long ago and R* finds out and cannot roll it back anymore.
- Many people who say they got banned for receiving money are liars, they asked for the money and got snitched or caught.
- Many people who say they got banned for receiving money are liars, they quickly spent it and never called it in and later on got snitched or caught.
- Not everyone at R* support seems to know how to handle situations involving an unsuspecting playe receiving cash and thus resorts to 14 day bans, which are hard to reverse.
