If you're using your phone to reliably get notifications from various apps, a Samsung phone is not the device for you.
Samsung constantly shuts down background apps and blocks them from sending notifications, even if you tick all the right boxes to stop the phone from doing so. The people at
dontkillmyapp.com do a great job of tracking this issue, and Samsung holds
the top spot on the site's wall of shame. To quote the site, Samsung's "five thumbs down" rating means that "foreground services [are] killed by default, and the user cannot configure it otherwise." Notifications on the Pixel 6, on the other hand,
are a delight and work reliably.
