Windows Central kertoo Microsoftin suunnittelevan Copilot-tekoälyominaisuuksien tuomista Windows 10 -käyttöjärjestelmälle sen markkinaosuuden vuoksi.
Sivuston mukaan käyttöjärjestelmä saisi ainakin tehtäväpalkista käynnistettävän Copilot-sivupalkin, jonka ominaisuudet olisivat vastaavia Windows 11 -version kanssa.

Win7-aikana OS-päivitykset olivat vielä OS-päivityksiä. Nykyisin päivitykset muistuttavat enemmän heikoilla jäillä kävelyä, eli mitä uskaltaa asentaa vai pitääkö kone nykäistä irti verkosta heti kunhan päivitys on asentunut? Siis jottei se uusin versio MS-viruksesta ehdi jo bootatessa toimittaa kaikkea koneesta löytynyttä eteenpäin myytäväksi. Linux ei auta asiaa koska täälläkin tarpeelliset softat vaativat vieläkin Windowsin, jota ei seliseli muuta :coffee:

Copilot lähtee täältäkin koneesta välittömästi ml. kaikki siihen liittyvät tiedostot+palvelut, ellei muuta niin vaikka käsipelillä tappamalla mm. PowerRun'in avustuksella.

Windows Copilot is not a useful tool to manage Windows or get actionable help. It supports only a few commands and these commands aren't listed anywhere publicly. Heck, even Copilot refuses to return the full list of commands. Could be that the list is so small that Microsoft is embarrassed to reveal it.

Minusta tuo on ollut tosi hyvä ja hemmetin kätevä Edgen ominaisuutena. Nykyään tulee välillä puhelimellakin Bing sovellust ajossa on myös tuo tekoäly. Käyttänyt alusta asti niin kehityksen huomannut olevan nouseva kokoajan ja mitä enempi näitä käytetään sitä nopeamminhan nämä kehittyvätkin. Tuolle käyttöjärjestelmän tueksi tulevallekkin AI:lle nyt naureskellaan mutta se tulee hyvin todennäköisesti olemaan hyvinkin olennianen osa jo muutaman vuoden päästä ja varmaan nopeamminkin. Itselle tuo Bing AI on jo päivittäinen juttu ja en siitä luopuisi enää. Kääntäjänäkin niin plajon parempi kuin joku google translate jne.

Näihin tuloksiin päädyin ihan vain kokeilemalla, sen jälkeen näkee helposti artikkelin väitteiden läpi.

Se että OpenAI pyytää kuluttajalta 20/kk on täysin irrelevanttia tässä kontekstissa. Microsoft omistaa lähes puolet firmasta ja sillä on palvelinrautaa käsittämättömät määrät pyörittämään vaikka ja mitä. Ja ei, siinä ei ole mitään uutta että firma antaa kuluttajille jotain mistä se itse tekee (hetkellisesti) tappiota, kunhan se palvelee jotain muuta firman toimintaa sopivasti.

Vaikken edes lukenut kuin pätkiä sieltä täältä niin peruskäyttäjä itkisi apua alta aikayksikön tuon ajamisen jälkeen kun edes kuvat eivät aukea enää.

Voisin melkein ostaa winukalta version jossa ei kaikke noita "featureita" olisi vaan winukka vaan toimisi ilman päivityksiä jotka kusevat asetukseni tai päivittäisen käytön

Tuo esimerkkinä ollut nyt ei ollut ihan pahimmasta päästä vaikka vanhanaikainen toteutukseltaan olikin, mutta aika monta nykyaikaisempaakin yleisesti hehkutettua skriptiä löytyy verkosta Youtube-videoiden saattelemana, jotka hyvin todennäköisesti aiheuttavat kaikenlaista ongelmaa myöhemmin. Erityisesti huolestuttaa, kun porukka ajelee näitä ymmärtämättä mitä tekee ja sitten ihmetellään, että miksi Windows on niin tahmea, tai ei muuten vain toimi.
