Huomatkaa, että ketjun aiheessa on kylmäfuusio lainausmerkeissä, eli Rossin laitteiden toimintaperiaate ei perustu oikeasti minkäänlaiseen fuusioon.
Energiantuotanto Rossin laitteissa perustunee elektroniklustereiden muodostamiseen ja purkamiseen.
Onkin mahdollista, että koko "kylmäfuusio" eli LENR-ilmiö perustuu elektroniklustereihin.
Elektroniklusterit tunnetaan niiden tutkijasta riippuen ainakin seuraavilla nimillä:
- condensed plasmoid
- charge cluster
- exotic vacuum object

"In terms of physics, and highly conceptualised, the hypothesis is that using a strong electric pulse in a certain environment, clusters of electrons in coherent phase are formed, which have a very low entropy through the high order of coherence in these states.
