Is the HYDROGEN glass half full… or half empty?
HYDROGEN One is not perfect. Neither was the RED ONE. Or the 1st Oakley sunglass.
The question is… does it do more that matters than what it is lacking?
Half full.
It has a 4V display and image capture system in the phone. 2D is completely normal.
It has A3D which is a big advancement in sound.
It has a QHD (2560x1440) display in 2D. The iPhone X is 2436x1125.
It has about 50% more battery. 4500 mA. iPhone X is 2716 mA and the Samsung Galaxy 9 is 3000 mA.
It has a headphone jack. And an external Sim/micro SD slot that can handle 400GB.
It has a fresh industrial design that also is easier to hold. It differentiates.
It is a modular system.
Half empty.
It weighs more and is a bit bigger. It weighs about 1.6 oz more than a similar sized display phone.
It costs more. See above.
It will need more updates than most phones. Mostly because we are continually improving everything over time. And we are learning as we go. See RED cameras.
It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip, not an 845. Couldn’t implement in time for launch. However, the 835 does everything we need. Going forward, with direct support from Qualcomm, we expect to be on the leading edge of Snapdragon releases.
We have no idea what we are doing and we are making this up as we go along. The “others” have a long history of cell phone manufacture.
You get to decide if the glass is half full… or half empty.
