Hei,
So I recently posted here to ask whether my GPU is faulty and got a great response that suggested that I change the thermal paste in the GPU. I did that and temperaturewise everything is great now, but I'm still experiencing a problem with performance and am now asking for help to identify the issue and its root.
I mainly play Apex Legends, Rainbow Six: Siege and Teamfight Tactics (League of Legends). A little less than a month ago I started experiencing FPS loss and stutters here and there. It's not constant and happens in places that don't really follow any consistent logic to my eye.
For instance, whenever the whole map is in front of my eyes in Apex Legends in the jumpship, I never have any FPS loss or stutter, but when I get down and run or move, I get them in random places. Smoke and fog effects sometimes also cause noticeable little loss in framerate. With Apex its more the stutters that is the issue and they happen even when I lower my settings.
Rainbow Six: Siege performs mostly very good, but I have framerate loss here and there and a small stutter here and there as well.
Teamfight Tactics has only low framerate and happens when a lot is going on, but I didn't used to have this issue with the game. That's the issue in general: I didn't used to have these issues with any other game than Apex Legends that I've had stutters in for quite a long time now. The stutters and frameskips also used to happen in World of Warcraft.
My question is: what is the cause of these kinds of issues in general? Fast googling says that it's when the computer isn't good enough to run games, but my computer should be and has been good enough for quite a few years now with the same games. The next question is: what can be done about it?
I've uninstalled and reinstalled my GPU drivers quite a few times with the help of DDU now and taken the GPU physically out of the computer quite a few times as well and put it back in. One of the weirdest instances was when I took the card out and put it back in and saw massive FPS loss in Apex. Did the same again and everything went back to normal. I had everything the exact same way both times.. cords connected, GPU in PCI-E slot as usual and so on, but for some reason experienced this issue. Ever since that I haven't been able to get back to not have FPS loss and stutters and it's killing me as my computer is still pretty good.
Any help is very appreciated!
Setup:
